Favorite Type of Hero--Contest/Drawing!

I’m interested in hearing about your favorite type of romance hero. Maybe you adore a certain personality type—the chief, the bad boy, the charmer, the best friend, etc. Maybe you’re drawn to heroes with specific occupations—CEO, cop, cowboy, doctor, artist, etc. Or maybe there are other qualities that make you melt, such as a certain accent.

What’s my favorite? I like them all :) but if I had to choose just one…a charming cowboy with a slow southern drawl. Yummy! Then again, the Aussie accent just makes me all warm and tingly inside. And the bad boys... Well, as I said, I like them all.

As an incentive for you to share your thoughts, I’m holding a drawing. The prize is an autographed copy of a book by one of my wonderfully talented critique partners.

Just One Look by P.J. Womack

Everyone who leaves a comment between now and September 14th will be entered into the drawing. The winner will be announced on September 15th, 2006. I DO need your email address so I can contact you in the event that you win the drawing. Hey, Pamela...

My favorite kind of hero is the dark and tortured guy who finds love when he's not even looking for it. That's a recurring theme in my books, so I guess it better be a favorite!

Congrats on you upcoming release from NCP. Looking forward to reading more about it.

:-)

hmmm hero...

I like the dark hero, the ones that hae issues and a past, but ones that could very possibly make thier the villain. Whe they have a choice on what route they can take, i love that. Ima lso a big fan of heros who arent the universal style of them, owing loyalty to their family and freinds above doing whats socially acceptable(the idea of honor among thieves and what not)
and a love a normal guy kinda here.. no bulging muscles or crazy ripped bodies for me, cuz lets face it, men like that dont really exist but for movies and romance novles, and i like a little reality with my literature...

I love the sweet, quiet guys who suprise you with their strength when the times get tough. *grin* I married one!

I supposed that would be the laid back country boys.

I like someone who is tall, ruggedly handsome, and who has been through some challenges in his life and overcome them. Not especially a bad boy, but someone who appreciates the goodness in him and others. And also he needs to have a deep voice and doesn't talke much, but when he does, it is worth listening to

My favorite heroes are the bad boys. Enjoy the cops or military men, hot and brooding, but not over the top. A sense of humor makes him about perfect.

I prefer the rugged cowboy types of romantic heros who ride off with the gal into the sunset.

I like the the guy who is funny and tough but, when he finds that one right woman, shows his sensativity and vulnerability (against his best efforts to hide his feelings of course.) And I like a charming smile and a southern drawl.

HI!!

I love the tall, dark handsome alpha type who says he doesn't need any woman in his life permanently and certainly not a nosy, infuriating, sexy as hell gal like the heroine. Then, when he suddenly realises she's captured his heart, and she can stand up for herself, he's not afraid to cry real tears when he feels he may lose her.

Such a tough question! I love them all! But I would have to say my two ultimate favorites are the cowboy and the dark bad boy. How can you not love a cowboy! Ooh and I totally understand about the southern drawl! Hot!! And the brooding, dangerous and of course redeemable bad boy? Whether he's human, vamp or were, there's just something about a guy with a little darkness shrouding him! Thanks I defintely loved this post!

I like a strong hero but not overbearing. the heroine can't be a whiney person though. She has to have some fire in her to keep the story interesting.

Hi Pam,
What I like in a hero is a strong sensetive man. With a mystery to him but sweet and gentle and caring. A one that can be a boy in his sensetive but yet a man when you need him to be strong for you. But not to strong with the male mocho that some men have I don't like a front. Or a lier of a man. Just his true self. I think that why I like the Vampire hero's because they do have this kind of thing in them.
Hugs!

I'm really not picky. LOL I love tall, dark and handsome and sensitive when needed. I love cowboys and military men. Men that can get the job done, whatever that requires, yk?

My favorite heroes are tall, dark and handsome. I am not a big fan of the tortured hero but prefer one who has suceeded in overcoming tough situations.

Favorite type...hmmm...I suppose it would be the bad boy who can laugh at himself, who has overcome a difficult past to be successful regardless of career and who falls hard and unabashedly when he finds the one woman he wants to spend the rest of his days with.

What is my favorite type of hero? Oh my, that's a hard one! I've not read any of the other posts yet (I didn't want to influence myself). :) One thing I love is a self-assured, alpha male with a soft spot for the one he loves. He must be loyal and fiercly protective of family and friends. His job/occupation is not that important as long as he makes a comfortable living. If I'm in a shallow mood, I want tall, dark and handsome...lol Oh, and strong. He must love rubenesque women.
If we are talking a paranormal hero, I love vampires and werewolves - the bad boys with a big heart hiding inside.
There's a lot more but I don't want to ramble on too much more!
Wanted to say congratulations on your upcoming book from NCP!

My favorite heroes are vampires, werewolves, and shapeshifters and are tall, dark, and handsome with piercing blue/grey/or green eyes. I love the strong alpha types that hide their sensitivity until they meet up with the woman of their dreams and then they show her they can't live without her! :)

My favorite kind of hero is an alpha male, but an evolved alpha. He doesn't have to be a bad boy, but if he is, I do like for him to have redeeming qualities. There's nothing more satisfying that watching a man conquered by love.

My Favorite kind of hero would be tall, muscular but not a body builder type, long black hair, with light colored eyes (that's my favorite part!) and have a sexy smile to go along with his deep voice.

A sexy smoldering attitude would be great, but most important loyalty and trustworthiness would be two of his main traits.

My favourite kind of hero is the kind who's worked his way up to where he is, is confident with some cynicism, resourceful and able to take care of himself and the people around him and who isn't looking for love but it found him.

Hi Pamela,

Congrad's on your upcoming new release. This is a great topic. Ilove hearing about what others enjoy reading and the type of hero's they enjoy :)

I love the dark hero type who is well built and knows how to go for the woman in a book. I always loved it when the guy wants the woman in a book but she don't want him. He never gives up and ends up with the woman towards the ending.

I also love the funny and strong ones.

I am engaged to a wonderful man who is full of surprises Love it :)

Hugssss

I love many types of heroes... tortured, dark, lost soul types who need a woman's touch and the healing power of love. The sexy, teasing bad boys who love danger and make life so exciting for the heroine. The charming seducers who hide the pain inside where no one can see it behind that killer smile. I think a Scottish accent is beyond sexy.

I like Alpha heroes. Love reading about bad boys, navy seals, cops, p.i.s, and cowboys.
