One of my Favorite Authors

I’ve only read two of Emily McKay’s books (Perfectly Saucy and Her Wildest Dreams), but she’s way up there on my list of favorite authors.

Ms. McKay is a talented author…the woman can write! Her books are also very sexy :) But the thing I love the most about her books are the characters. They are just so lovable.

If you haven’t read one of her books yet, go buy one!

Favorite Quotes

Someone made the remark recently that I have a quote for every situation. That’s not true, because some events or situations simply leave me speechless. But, I do have a tendency to remember quotes. Unfortunately, I also have difficulty remembering who said them :)

From time to time I’ll be sharing some of my favorite quotes, and hopefully will be able to give credit to the proper person for them.

“Act like you got some raising.” -- Isn’t that just one of the most southern phrases you've ever heard? I have no clue who was the first person to use this phrase, but I can tell you that my grandmother said this to me often. Now I say it to my children, and I imagine someday they’ll say it to their children.

“It is no sin to attempt and fail. The only sin is not to make the attempt.” -- Suellen Fried

“I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.” -- Jimmy Dean

If you have a favorite quote, I’d love to hear it!

Top Ten Female Fantasies--Contest/Drawing!

According to AskMen.Com the top 10 female fantasies are:

10. Sex with a stranger
9. Group sex
8. Dominating a man
7. Being watched/having an audience
6. Being sexually ravaged/being controlled/having a master/being submissive
5. Sex with a woman
4. Being paid (stripper or prostitute)
3. Sex with two men
2. They want to BE the man...yes, using a strap-on with their male partner
1. Forced sex

So there you have it.

For the men that may be reading this, here's what you need to remember...many fantasies are meant to remain fantasies. Just because a woman may be turned on by the thought of something doesn't mean that she actually wants it to happen. Then again, maybe she does. Why don't you ask her? Communication is the key to any relationship!

I'm interested in hearing people's thoughts about this list. Did any of the fantasies surprise you? I'll admit that number 2 surprised me a bit. Were there any fantasies that you thought should/would have made the list that didn't? Do you have any additional thoughts or comments on the subject?

As an incentive for you to share your thoughts (some might call it a 'bribe' but I prefer the word 'incentive' ) everyone who leaves a comment on my blog between now and August 20th will be entered into a drawing for a box of Godiva chocolates. YUM! The winner will be announced on August 21, 2006. I DO need your email address so that I can contact you in the event that you win the drawing. For those that prefer to comment anonymously please send a copy of your post, along with your email address to Be aware that I will be posting on my blog the winner's first name, last initial (if they prefer that their last name not be posted), and state of residency.

Now, I just realized that this particular topic may leave some with the impression that I write erotic romance. I do :) However, the book that is being released in September is not an erotic romance, it’s a sensual romance. I am hopeful, though, that one of my erotic romances with be released in the near future.

RWA National Conference

I just returned from the RWA (Romance Writers of America) National Conference, which was held this year in Atlanta, GA. There were tons of workshops, publisher spotlights (where editors discuss the types of stories that they’re currently seeking), booksignings, luncheons, award presentations, etc. And for brave souls, editor and agent appointments to pitch your manuscript(s).

This was my first time attending the conference. It was exhausting and frankly a little overwhelming. There was so much to do and not enough time to squeeze it all in.
